IRIS leads process control digitalization for green Hydrogen Peroxide production
IRIS leads digital control in Power2Hype, using AI and photonic sensing to optimise green hydrogen peroxide production from water, oxygen, and renewables.
Within the European project Power2Hype, which aims to deliver a green alternative for hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) production using only water, oxygen, and renewable electricity, IRIS Technology Solutions takes a leading role in digitalizing process control.
IRIS contributes its expertise in real-time monitoring, AI-powered control systems, and digital twin development to ensure the electrochemical production process is safe, responsive, and optimized. The company uses advanced photonic sensing technologies, like Near-Infrared (NIR) sensing, which measures the chemical composition of materials by shining light on them, and Raman spectroscopy, which helps identify substances by analyzing how light interacts with molecules. In addition, Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) captures detailed images across a wide range of wavelengths of light, providing a comprehensive view of the materials involved in the process. These technologies, combined with predictive AI models, enable IRIS to continuously monitor key factors such as temperature, pH, voltage, oxygen flow, and hydrogen peroxide concentration, ensuring the process remains stable and efficient while preventing potential issues before they occur.
This intelligent control system will allow for dynamic process optimization and early anomaly detection, helping scale up a cleaner, safer alternative to traditional anthraquinone-based H₂O₂ production.
With proven experience in biotech, food, and chemical sectors, IRIS brings a strong portfolio of adaptive control solutions and inline monitoring tools. Through Power2Hype, IRIS strengthens its commitment to building a smart, sustainable, and decentralized chemical industry, aligned with the EU’s green transition and circular economy objectives.
